In a move to ease the financial burden on students, the Member of Parliament for Sege, Daniel Keshi Bessey, has allocated GH¢100,000 to support tertiary students within his constituency.
The funding, sourced from the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), is intended to assist students struggling with tuition fees, accommodation, and other academic expenses.
According to reports by the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the initiative targets needy but brilliant students who are at risk of dropping out due to financial constraints.
The MP emphasized that:

Education remains a key driver of national development
Investing in students ensures long-term economic and social growth
No qualified student should be forced to abandon their education due to lack of funds
Beyond the financial support, the MP is also implementing complementary initiatives, including:
Teacher motivation schemes
Local interventions to improve quality education delivery
This reflects a broader trend across Ghana where constituency-level interventions are increasingly being used to bridge gaps in access to higher education.
