The Coalition of Unemployed Trained Teachers (CUTT), representing the 2023 batch of college-trained teachers, has issued an urgent press release calling on government authorities to provide a clear timeline for teacher recruitment.
The statement, dated March 30, 2026, highlights growing frustration among the estimated 16,000 to 17,000 trained teachers who remain unemployed despite assurances from the President of the Republic of Ghana that financial clearance has been granted for recruitment.

CUTT insists that no new batch of graduates should be added to the recruitment process until all members of the 2023-year group are posted. According to the coalition, their postings should have commenced in September 2025, but delays have left many graduates dependent on family support.
The press release appeals directly to the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ghana Education Service (GES) for an official response, accusing the government of neglect and broken promises. “You cannot beat a child and expect him or her not to cry,” the statement reads, underscoring the emotional and financial toll on unemployed teachers and their families.

CUTT executives further criticized the current administration, describing the situation as a burden unfairly placed on innocent graduates. They urged media houses and the public to amplify their demands for transparency and accountability in the recruitment process.
The coalition concluded by thanking supporters and reaffirming its commitment to advocating for the rights of unemployed teachers until their concerns are addressed.
